dc.description.abstractInfectious diseases are caused by viruses and bacteria that are spread through the respiratory tract which are then inhaled and enter the body, causing the defense response to move and then enter and attach to the respiratory tract which causes a decreased immune reaction and can infect the respiratory tract resulting in ineffective airway clearance. Upper respiratory infections involve the nose, sinuses, pharynx, larynx, and large airways. The purpose of this study was implementing Ineffective Airway Clearing Nursing Care for toddlers with Upper Respiratory Tract Infections at the Habibah Krembung Clinic, Sidoarjo. The research method uses a case study design. The provision of ineffective airway clearance nursing care for two toddlers with Upper Respiratory Tract Infections began with assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. Collecting data using interview techniques in assessment, physical examination, observation and documentation. The results of the study after nursing care actions were carried out for 4 home visits to client 1 the problem was resolved marked by no cough, normal respiratory frequency and in client 2 the problem solved partly characterized by reduced cough, normal respiratory frequency. The focus of the intervention is to monitor breathing patterns (frequency, depth, breath effort), monitor additional breath sounds, give warm drinks, position semi-Fowler or Fowler, collaborate with the medical team in administering drugs according to patient indications and needs (bronchodilators, mucolytics).en_US
