Nursing process documentation course must be understood by nursing students. The
results of the evaluation of students' perceptions of the learning process are that
students have difficulty understanding the material presented, students have not
gotten an overview of case analysis according to the condition of patients in health
services. So we need a learning method that fits the needs of students. One of the
appropriate learning models for nursing documentation courses is the Problem
Based Learning (PBL) learning model or problem-based learning. This study aims to
prove whether there is an effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model
on the learning outcomes of nursing documentation courses. The research method
used is a quasi experimental design with a control group design approach. The
population in this study were students of the Bachelor of Nursing study program at
the PPNI Mojokerto University of Health. Sampling using purposive sampling
technique. The number of samples in this study were 92 respondents who were
divided into 2 groups, namely the experimental group (n=46) and the control group
(n=46). The results of the study will be tested for unpaired numerical comparative
analysis. The test used is the Mann-Whitney test. The conclusion from the results of
hypothesis testing is p <0.005. The results showed that the p value was 0.000
(p<0.005). The average learning outcome of the experimental group was higher than
that of the control group, which was 85.5. The difference in the median value
between the two groups is 5. This proves that statistically and clinically the Problem
Based Learning (PBL) method affects the learning outcomes of nursing
documentation courses
