HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DENGAN KEMAMPUAN INTERAKSI SOSIAL PADA PASIEN SKIZOFRENIA DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS GEDONGAN KOTA MOJOKERTO

Abstract

One of the mental disorders that existed throughout the world was schizophrenia. sufferers often experienced problems in socializing because of social deficits. The inability of people with schizophrenia to carried out social interactions certainly really needs support to become stronger and self-respecting individuals so that they were able to reach a better level and increased their social interactions. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and social interaction in schizophrenic patients in the working area of the Gedongan Public Health Center, Mojokerto City. This research design used correlation analytic with cross sectional approached. The population in this study were all families who had members of the mental disorder of schizophrenia in the working area of the Gedongan Health Center with a sample of 42 respondents. The sampling technique used simple random sampling. Collected data used a questionnaire on each variable. Based on the results of the study, it was known that family support were good category with quite good social interaction skills as many as 38 respondents (100%). The results of data analysis and processing with Spearman Rho obtained a significant value (0.000) < = 0.05, meaning that H0 was rejected, meaning that there were a relationship between family support and social interaction in schizophrenia patients in the working area of the Gedongan Health Center, Mojokerto City with a value of r = 0.999 which indicates very strong relationship. Family support greatly affected the social interactions of schizophrenic patients, the better the family support provided, the better the social interactions in schizophrenic patients. So families were expected to provided support to members to help the healing process and social interactions.
