dc.description.abstract | Pulmonary Tuberculosis could cause stigma. The stigma experienced did not only come
from family and society (social stigma), but could also come from the sufferer himself which is
commonly referred to as self-stigma. This self-stigma could cause delays in treatment, prevention,
and policies related to pulmonary tuberculosis. The purpose of this study was to determine the
self-stigma of pulmonary tuberculosis patients regarding the cure rate at the Pulmonary Polyclinic
at Bangil Hospital, Pasuruan. The research design is descriptive. All Pulmonary Tuberculosis
patients in the Pulmonary Po at Bangil Pasuruan Hospital in July 2023 were 42 people. The
sampling technique used total sampling with a research period of 2 weeks, namely July 17-31,
2023 so that 25 respondents were obtained. The instrument used the Internalized Stigma of Mental
Illness (ISMI) scale. Data analysis using frequency distribution and percentage. The results
showed that most of the respondents had a low stigma about curing pulmonary tuberculosis, as
many as 17 people (68%), while 8 people (32%) had a moderate stigma. This shows that
respondents had a low negative view of the cure of pulmonary tuberculosis, meaning that the
pulmonary tuberculosis they suffer could be cured. Respondents did not give an overly negative
view of Pulmonary Tuberculosis. Respondents felt that they could recover and carry out activities
like other normal and healthy people. | en_US |
