    Abstract
Increased body mass index causes changes in body shape in women, with obesity causing a person's self-concept is not good, it can interfere with body image. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between body mass index and body image in obese mothers. The design of this research is correlation analytic with cross sectional approach. The population of this study were all obese mothers who were members of the Gambuhan gymnastics studio, aged 20-52 years in RT 2 Dusun Gambuhan, Modongan Village, Sooko District, Mojokerto Regency, with a total of 28 people. The sampling technique used was total sampling, with a sample size of 28 people. The research instrument used the MBRSQ (Multidimensional Body Self-Relation Questionnaire) questionnaire. Based on the results of cross tabulation analysis between BMI and body image shows that 7 respondents with overweight BMI (25.0%) have a positive body image, 16 respondents with BMI obesity grade 1 (57.1%) 9 people have a positive body image while 7 other people have negative body image, 5 respondents with BMI obesity grade 2 (17.9%) all have negative body image. This result does not mean that it is safe to have a positive body image by having an obese body. Respondents with a BMI above normal have various perceptions of each individual. If they are not physically attractive, some respondents confidently ignore their bodies when experiencing physical changes, there are also some respondents who consistently have difficulty adjusting so they feel less confident.
