| dc.description.abstract | Problems that cover the quality of life are very broad and complex including
problems of physical health, psychological status, level of freedom, social
relationships and the environment in which they live. In the current pandemic era,
the elderly as a vulnerable group of course really need support from their families
so that the health and quality of life of the elderly during the Covid-19 pandemic
can be maintained as optimally as possible. The purpose of this study was to
analyze the relationship between family support and the quality of life of the
elderly during the covid 19 pandemic. This study used adesign correlation
analytic with aapproach cross sectional. The population in this study were all the
elderly in dsn. Candipari, Candipari Village, Kec. Porong district. Sidoarjo.
Samples were taken with a total sampling technique of 40 respondents. The
independent variable is family support and the dependent variable is quality of
life. Data were collected using a family support questionnaire with a modified
Likert scale and a WHOQoL – BREEF quality of life questionnaire, then data
analysis using statistical distribution (crosstab). The results of this study indicate
that of the 22 respondents who have low family support, all (100%) have a low
quality of life, while of 7 respondents who have high family support, all (100%)
have a high quality of life. There is a tendency of a relationship between family
support and the quality of life of the elderly, where the better the family support,
the higher the quality of life. This is because the family is a support system that
provides direct care for family members so that it has an impact on the physical,
psychological, social, and environmental aspects that will affect the quality of life
