dc.description.abstract | Disaster preparedness would be needed by people who were left behind in flood-prone
areas, because of various information about flood disasters could minimize the risk of flood
disasters. The lack of flood disaster preparedness was because many people and village officials
have never attended flood disaster counseling. This study purpose was to know the influence of
health education with demonstration method on flood preparedness in the community at Banyulegi
Village, Dawarblandong District, Mojokerto Regency. Design of this study was Pre-experimental
study with one group pretest-post test design approach. The population in this study was all heads
of families aged 20-50 years in RW 4, Balong Hamlet, Banyulegi Village, Dawarblandong District,
Mojokerto Regency, as many as 358 families. The sampling technique of this study was simple
random sampling. The sample size was 36 people. The study instrument used SAP and
questionnaires. Data analysis used Wilcoxon test. The results of this study suggested that almost
all respondents were ready to face flood disasters before being given health education with
demonstration method, as many as 32 people (88.9%), and almost all respondents are very ready
to face flood disaster after being given health education demonstration method, as many as 28
people (77,8%). The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test suggested that pvalue = 0.000 so
H1 was accepted, meaning that there was effect of health education with demonstration methods
on flood preparedness in the community in Balong Hamlet, Banyulegi Village, Dawarblandong
District, Mojokerto Regency. The community experienced an increase in their preparedness to face
floods after being given health education with demonstration methods. This was because the
community had received education on how to carry out good emergency response plan and
