The incidence of hypertension is strongly influenced by an unhealthy lifestyle. There are several things that cause hypertension, including poor diet, not doing physical activity, not exercising regularly, smoking and stress. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between lifestyle and the incidence of hypertension in the community in Timbulrejo Hamlet, Purwojati Village, Ngoro District, Mojokerto Regency. Design Analytical research with cross sectional approach. The population is all people aged (25-60 years) in Rw 13 Timbulrejo Hamlet, Purwojati Village, Ngoro District, Mojokerto Regency, amounting to 300 people so that a sample of 30 people was obtained which was taken by simple random sampling. The independent variable is lifestyle and the dependent variable is the incidence of hypertension in the community. Data were taken using a questionnaire and a sphygmomanometer and a stethoscope. After collecting the data, the data was processed and continued with the Spearman's Rho Test statistical test with the help of SPSS version 20.00. The results showed p (0.000) < (0.05), so H0 was rejected, meaning that there is a relationship between lifestyle and the incidence of hypertension, with a value of r = 0.913 which indicates a very strong relationship, and shows a positive correlation. This shows that the hypertension experienced by the community is caused by an unhealthy lifestyle. The better the lifestyle of the community, the lower the incidence of hypertension and the more unhealthy the lifestyle of the community, the higher the incidence of hypertension. It is suggested to the public to change their lifestyle to a healthier direction by reducing or quitting smoking, doing physical activity, regulating diet and controlling stress better. | en_US |
