ABSTRACT COMMUNITY PREPAREDNESS IN FACING FLOOD DISASTER IN TEMPURAN VILLAGE, MOJOKERTO REGENCY YUNITA AJENG MAULINDA Floods occur almost every rainy season. The flood came without knowing the place and who inhabited the place. Flood disasters are inevitable, but can be minimized by means of flooding. One of the important factors in flood disaster management is community preparedness about the risk of flood disasters. This research aims to find out the level of community preparedness in the face of flood disasters in Tempuran village of Sooko District of Mojokerto Regency. This research is a quantitative study using descriptive research design. The population in this study was 472 respondents, sampling techniques using NonProbability sampling. The number of samples in this study was 48 people. The research instrument uses a preparedness questionnaire. The study was conducted in November 2020- August 2021. The study found that almost half of respondents were very ready as many as 20 respondents (41.7%), ready as many as 9 respondents (18.8%), quite ready 14 respondents (29.2%), less prepared as many as 4 respondents (8.3%), and not ready as many as 1 responde (2.1%). Which means that the knowledge that the community has to affect attitudes and preparedness concerns must be done by the community to be ready and alert in anticipating flood disasters, especially for those who live in areas that have vulnerability and frequency to flood disasters. One of the efforts is to increase knowledge and is expected to be able to anticipate the occurrence of flood disasters such as preparing emergency equipment that will be brought in when a flood disaster occurs.
