    Abstract
The implementation of clean and healthy behavior in Indonesia was still very low. The reason could be due to public knowledge of the importance of clean and healthy living which was still low. This low level of knowledge would have an impact on people's clean and healthy behavior in everyday life. The purpose of this study was to describe the clean and healthy behavior household living in the community in Tangguwatu Village, Aru Islands District, Aru Islands Regency. The design of this research was descriptive. The population in this study was all people living in Tunguwatu Village, Aru Islands District, Aru Islands Regency in August 2021 as many as 117 houses. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The sample size was 55 houses. The instrument used the PHBS questionnaire from the Ministry of Health in 2014. The data analysis used descriptive analysis. The results showed that the household clean and healthy behavior was classified as primary healthy, as many as 32 houses (58.2%), independent healthy as many as 13 houses (23.6%), and middle healthy as many as 10 people (18.6%). The indicator with the highest score was using clean water, as many as 55 houses (100%), while the indicator with the lowest score was not smoking in the house, as many as 11 houses (20%). These results indicated that most of the houses are classified as primary healthy which cannot fulfill 3-4 household PHBS indicators, namely exclusive breastfeeding, washing hands with soap and running water, using healthy latrines, and not smoking in the house. This is due to the high exposure to advertisements for formula milk, the lack of facilities for washing hands with soap and running water, the absence of healthy latrine assistance for residents and smoking habits that are difficult to stop.
