PENGARUH HEALTH EDUCATION MEDIA AUDIO VISUAL TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN MASYARAKAT DALAM MELAKUKAN PERTOLONGAN PERTAMA PADA PASIEN STROKE
Abstract
Handling of the pre-hospital stage in Indonesia was very weak, both in
terms of infrastructure and human resources. Lack of public knowledge about the
signs and symptoms of acute stroke was still being a major problem of delayed
management after an acute stroke. This study aimed to determine the effect of
audio-visual media health education on public knowledge in providing first aid to
stroke patients. The design of this study used one group pretest-post test design.
The population in this study was all of people aged 17-35 years in Balongwono
Hamlet, NA. 20 CA. 10, Wonomlati Village, Krembung District, Sidoarjo
Regency, as many as 43 people. The sampling technique of this study was total
sampling so that the study sample was 43 people. The study instrument used SAP,
laptop, and questionnaire. Data analysis used crosstab. The results of this study
suggested that most respondents had less knowledge before being given health
education, as many as 28 people (65.1%) and after being given health education,
most of them had good knowledge, as many as 23 people (53.5%). The results of
the analysis suggested that all respondents experienced an increase in knowledge
after being given health education. Audio visual aids are capable of displaying
images, writing, animations that move and are accompanied by sound, helping to
give the first concept or the right impression, encouraging interest, saving time,
making memories of lessons longer and increasing intellectual knowledge
