    Abstract
    The older a person gets, the more diseases that appear and often suffer, especially in the elderly. One of them is hypertension. Hypertension that occurs in the long term and continuously can trigger strokes, heart attacks, heart failure and is the main cause of chronic kidney failure. Patients with hypertension must continue to follow a hypertension diet every day with the presence or absence of pain and symptoms that arise. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between hypertension diet compliance with blood pressure status in the elderly in SingogalihVillage, Tarik District, Sidoarjo Regency. The design of this research is correlation analytic. The population was all elderly people aged > 50 years with hypertension as many as 115 people, 35 people were taken as samples using purposive sampling. Data collection instruments were questionnaires, manual sphygmanometer, stethoscope and observation sheets. The data that has been collected is processed through the stages of editing, coding, scoring, tabulating and analyzed using the Spearman Rho test. The results of the study on adherence to the hypertension diet showed that of the 35 respondents most of them adhered to the hypertension diet, namely 22 respondents (62.9%), Elderly Blood Pressure showed that of the 35 respondents most of them had severe blood pressure, namely 16 respondents (45.7%). The results of the analysis showed that there was a relationship between hypertension diet compliance with the blood pressure of the elderly in Singogalih Village, Tarik District, Sidoarjo Regency with the Asymp.sig value of 0.000 and < (0.05). Someone who has hypertension if not controlled can be dangerous and at risk of stroke, heart disease and kidney failure. To help lower blood pressure to normal, it is necessary to have dietary compliance from people with hypertension
