dc.description.abstract | Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms experienced by patients
with chronic kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis therapy with a prevalence
ranging from 60-97%. One of the therapies that can be done to overcome fatigue
is benson relaxation. Benson relaxation is the development of a breathing
relaxation response method that involves patient belief factors, which can create
an internal environment so that it can help patients achieve higher health and wellbeing
conditions. Apart from overcoming fatigue, this benson relaxation has
many benefits such as overcoming anxiety, relieving stress, and aiding in restful
sleep. The purpose of this study was to explain the effect of benson relaxation on
the level of fatigue in chronic kidney failure patients. The design of this research
was secondary data carried out by the literature review method from 10 journals
obtained through the electronic media database Google Scholar, Scopus, SID and
NCBI NLM, with the keywords Benson relaxation, fatigue, and hemodialysis. 6
out of 10 studies stated that the results were obtained after more than 5 times of
therapy and 3 out of 10 studies stated that Benson relaxation was more effective
when combined with other non-pharmacological therapies such as murottal AlQuran, physical exercise, music and aromatherapy. From some literature, it is proven that there is a significant effect of giving benson relaxation therapy on the
level of fatigue in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis.
Benson relaxation is a non-pharmacological therapy that is effective in reducing
the level of fatigue, which is mostly experienced by patients with chronic kidney
failure undergoing hemodialysis. A decrease in the limbic area can result in
reduced stress and increased autonomic stability by increasing the work of the
hypothalamus core which regulates the nervous system of the sympathizers so as
to calm and reduce fatigue. | en_US |
