PENGARUH METODE DEMONSTRASI TERHADAP TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN PERTOLONGAN PERTAMA PADA KECELAKAAN LALU LINTAS PADA REMAJA KARANGTARUNA DESA JABON
Abstract
Knowledge about first aid handling is very important especially for adolescents who are still actively doing activities outside the home. Demonstration is an effective learning method because they can see directly the application of material in daily life. The purpose of this research was to prove the effect of demonstration methods on the level of first aid knowledge in traffic accidents at Karangtaruna teenagers in Jabon Village. The research method used pre experimental design with one group pre test-post test design. Population are all members of Karangtaruna Jabon Village. sampling technique taht used in this research is total sampling so the sample are 53 teenagers. Instrument in this research was a questionnaire. Based on the results of analysis using crosstabulation, the results of the majority of respondents before being given demonstration of first aid in an accident have less knowledge level, as much 30 respondents (56.6%) and after being given demonstration of first aid in an accident, most have a good level of knowledge with total of 34 respondents (64.2%). This researcg shows that there is an influence of the effect of the method demonstration of the level of knowledge about first aid in traffic accidents in Karangtaruna teenagers in Jabon Village. The increase in knowledge was caused by the respondent receiving stimulus because they had been given learning by the demonstration method. Adolescents are expected to increase knowledge about first aid in traffic accidents so they can be applied to real conditions.
