| dc.description.abstract | The aging process is a process that causes change, both physical and psychological. The impact of the physical and psychological changes one of them is cognitive decline. The decline in cognitive function can lead to cognitive impairment, which is a condition in which there is a decline in mental functioning and the ability to do something that requires mind, planning, and memory. The effort to improve cognitive function in the elderly is a medium that can help sufferers to receive a decrease in memory. Many therapeutic mediums can be used. One of them is in the form of a game like Board game (Scrabble game). The study aims to determine the influence of board games on improving cognitive function in the elderly. The design of this research uses pre-experimentation with the One Group Pretest-Posttest design approach. The sample amounted to 13 people. Sampling Techniques Purposive Sampling. The research instrument uses the MMSE questionnaire (Mini-Mental Status Examination). This research was conducted in Nursing Home Mojopahit Mojokerto. Statistical test results using the Paired T-test test. ρ value of 0.000 < (α) 0.05 which is H0 rejected, meaning that there is a board game influence on the improvement of cognitive function in the elderly in Nursing Home Mojopahit Mojokerto. Board game can improve cognitive function so that it can be used by health personnel as a therapeutic modality in the elderly who experience impaired cognitive function. For researchers can then use a control group design or comparison group for more valid results. | en_US |
