| dc.description.abstract | Diarrhea is a disease that is often found in the community, especially in
infants. When a toddler suffers from diarrhea, the mother must provide immediate
treatment and the actions taken by the mother determine the course of the disease.
These actions are influenced by many things including the level of knowledge. The
better the level of mother’s knowledge, the better the attitude and behavior of
mothers in dealing with diarrhea on time. This research is to find out the effect of
health education through audivisual to the mother’s understanding of the first
handling of diarrhea in infants (aged 1-5 year). The design used is pre experimental
(one group pretest-posttest design). The sampling technique used is Non
Probability. The population in this study were all mothers who have toddlers (aged
1-5 year) in Kutoporong Hamlet, Kutoporong village Bangsal District, Mojokerto
Regency were 90 respondens with a puposive sampling technique of 25
respondents. The independet variable is health education through audiovisual and
the dependent variable is the mother’s understanding of the first handling of
diarrhea in inflants. Data taken using a questionnaire. After all data is collected,
data processing is done by editing, coding, scoring, and tabulating. The statistical
test results of this study used test as big as 0,000 < (α) 0,05 which means that there
is an influence before and after being given health education through audiovisuial.
Based on the results it shows that health education through audiovisual can be one
of the most effective media. Audiovisual media helps to direct conscios attention
and associate initial knowledge with new information received through sensing
stored in a long-term memory system will improve knowledge. | en_US |
