Bullying is an aggressive behavior that is not desired by a group of children that

in children today is not a strange thing, even found in everyday life. Bullying that occurs in
children can have a negative impact on the stage of development of children as students. The
purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of the intensity of the use of social
media with bullying behavior in children in Ngaban Elementary School, Tanggulangin
District, Sidoarjo Regency. This research design used correlation analytic with Cross
Sectional approach. The population in this study were students in grades IV, V and VI at
SDN Ngaban Kec. Tanggulangin District Sidoarjo which had 91 communication devices. The
sampling technique used was Purposive Sampling to obtain a sample of 91 people. This
research was conducted on 10-21 May 2020. The instrument used in the form of a
questionnaire and data analysis using a crosstab test. The results showed there were 46
(85.5%) respondents who used social media in the high category of bullying behavior. This
shows that there is a relationship between the intensity of the use of social media with
bullying behavior in children, which means the higher the intensity of the use of social media,
the higher the bullying behavior that is carried out. High use of social media can cause social
media addiction. Addiction to social media can cause depression in children. This depression
then leads and develops into aggressive behavior in children.
