STUDI FENOMENOLOGI: KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL MAHASISWA TINGKAT AKHIR YANG SEDANG MENGERJAKAN SKRIPSI DI STIKES BINA SEHAT PPNI KABUPATEN MOJOKERTO
Abstract
Emotional intelligence is a receptive capacity to motivate oneself and
survive frustration; to control impulses and delay a pleasure; to regulate one's
mood and keep pressure from limiting the ability to think; to empathize and to
hope. Managing emotions is a form of emotional intelligence. The purpose of this
study was to describe the emotional intelligence of students of S1 Nursing at the
final level of class 2016 at STIKes Bina Sehat PPNI. This research method uses a
qualitative design with a phenomenological approach. The population in this
study were the 8th semester undergraduate students of nursing at the Stikes Bina
Sehat PPNI Mojokerto. Sampling taken by researchers accidentally amounted to 5
people. Researchers select participants accidentally who have certain criteria set
by the researcher. The data collection of this research used interviews, voice
recorders and video recorders. The topics discussed in this study focused on
Goleman's 5 points of emotional intelligence, self-awareness, emotional
management, self-motivation, empathy, and social skills. The analysis used by
researchers is the analysis according to Colaizzi. The results of this study show
that students who are research participants have self-awareness of their problems,
good emotional management when exposed to emotional stress, have good selfmotivation,
empathy for others, and social skills to maintain relationships with
others. Final students must have a good emotional intelligence, because thesis has
a lot of pressure for the students and to complete it they cannot get into a bad or
unstable emotional state.
