    Abstract
    Schizophrenia is a disease that affects the brain and causes perceptual thoughts, emotions, movements, and strange behaviors that cause a decrease in the ability to carry out self-care activities, causing self-care deficits. The self-care deficit is the lack of self-care in mental patients due to changes in the thought process so that the ability to carry out self-care activities decreases, the lack of self-care can be seen from the patient's inability to bathe, eat and drink and (BAB/BAK) independently. The method used in this study is a descriptive method with a case study approach. The research was conducted at the Gedongan Public Health Center on April 25, 2021. The results of the research found in both participants were that there was a self-care deficit problem. According to the researcher, the implementation had been adjusted to the problem of the self-care deficit experienced by the respondent. Among them, researchers build trusting relationships, foster therapeutic relationships with patients, teach how to care for themselves properly and correctly. The results of the evaluation given during 4 meetings in 2 weeks the problem was resolved was obtained with results that showed participants wanted to take care of themselves, and families wanted to support participants' recovery by helping to prepare tools for cleaning themselves, researchers hope that good cooperation between patients, families and health workers so as to help run optimal nursing care
