dc.description.abstract | Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the airways characterized by excessive airway responsiveness, airway edema, and mucus production. With symptoms of shortness of breath accompanied by coughing, and most importantly the presence of an inflammatory process in the airways due to exposure to allergens and influenced by genetic determinants that cause chronic inflammation of the airways so that excess mucus or thick mucus can accumulate and even airway obstruction. The purpose of this study was to carry out nursing care for clients with ineffective airway clearance problems in asthmatic patients at Anwar Medika Krian Sidoarjo General Hospital. The research method using a case study design approach to nursing care includes assessment, nursing diagnoses, planning, implementation, evaluation using one client with nursing problems ineffective airway clearance, the place of research is in the Ashoka room of Anwar Medika Krian Sidoarjo General Hospital. Collecting data using interview techniques, observation, physical examination and documentation. The results of the study after nursing care was carried out for 3x24 hours, it was found that in client 1 the problem was resolved marked by no shortness of breath and no cough, normal respiratory frequency and in client 2 the problem was partially resolved, marked by no longer coughing but still feeling tight due to client 2 lack of mobilization. , lack of deep breathing exercises accompanied by the age of elderly patients. The focus of the intervention is on monitoring breathing patterns (frequency, depth, effort of breath), monitoring additional breath sounds for rhonchi, positioning semi-Fowler or Fowler, giving warm drinks, teaching effective coughing, collaboration with the medical team in administering drugs according to indications and patient needs (bronchodilators, mucolytic). | en_US |
