HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN EMOSIONAL DENGAN KUALITAS HIDUP PADA PASIEN GAGAL GINJAL KRONIK DI RUANG HEMODIALISA RSUD KOTA MADIUN
Abstract
Patients with chronic kidney disease must undergoing hemodialysis which is a therapy that replaces part of the work of kidney function in removing metabolic waste and fluids and substances that are not needed through diffusion and helmofiltration. Dependence on the patient will decrease the quality of life in patients. Quality of life is an important indicator to evaluate the results of hemodialysis in patients with chronic kidney failure. One of the factors supporting the success of nursing services is involving the patient's family by providing social support in the form of emotional support. This study aims to determine the correlation between emotional support and quality of life in patients with chronic kidney disease. This research method uses a cross sectional study approach. The study population was all patients with chronic kidney disiase at the Madiun City Hospital until a sample of 55 respondents was obtained. Data were collected using a questionnaire instrument, processed by editing, coding, scoring, tabulating. The results showed that almost half of patients with chronic renal disease had high emotional support with a high quality of life as many as 38 respondents (69.1 %). The Spearmen Rho correlation coeficient value is 0.639 with a strong relationship as indicated by the meaning that there is a relationship between emotional support and the quality of life of patients with chronic kidney disease. Emotional support for chronic kidney disease patients who get from their families will feel that they are cared for, loved, and appreciated so that they can be a strength for their own patients both psychologically and physically, so that it can improve the quality of life in patients with chronic kidney disease.
