Hypertension is persistent blood pressure where the systolic pressure
is above 140mmHg and the diastolic pressure is above 90 mmHg when
checking blood pressure using a blood pressure measuring device
using either a mercury cuff (sphygomanometer) or other digital.
Complaints of pain in hypertension can causediscomfort and inhibit
activities. Head massage therapy technique is a nursing intervention
and is a non-pharmacological therapy used to stimulate the release of
endorphins so that they can block the transmission of pain stimuli.
Deep head massage therapy with this method is carried out for 15-30
minutes in 3 days. The results of this scientific work show a decrease
in the pain scale assessed by the Numeric Ratting Scale. The NRS
scale before the intervention was carried out was
6. And after the intervention the pain scale was reduced to 2. It is
hoped that this scientific work can be used as one of the bases to be
used as a guide in making standard operational procedures for Head
massage therapy with nursing diagnosesof acute pain
