Hubungan Komunikasi Terapeutik Perawat Dengan Tingkat Kecemasan Pasien Pada Masa Pandemi COVID-19 Di RSUD DR. R.A BASOENI Kabupaten Mojokerto
Abstract
Therapeutic communication is very important to help patients recover, but in reality not all nurses provide detailed explanations and information about the patient's illness that can increase patient anxiety. This study aims to determine the nurse's therapeutic communication with the patient's level of anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research design used correlation analytic with cross sectional approach. The population in this study was all adult inpatients at RSUD Dr. R.A Basoeni, Mojokerto City Regency, in July 2021 as many as 103 people. The sampling technique of this research was accidental sampling. The sample in this study was 30 people. The research instrument used a questionnaire in the form of a questionnaire. Data analysis used Spearman Rho. The results suggested that most of the respondents rated the nurse's therapeutic communication as good, as many as 21 people (70%), and almost all respondents experienced mild anxiety, as many as 25 people (83.3%). All respondents who considered therapeutic communication good experienced mild anxiety, as many as 21 out of 21 people (100%), and most of those who assessed therapeutic communication experienced moderate anxiety, as many as 5 out of 9 people (55.6%). Analysis of the data with the Spearman Rho test obtained a p value of 0.000 less than (0.05) and a correlation coefficient value of 0.683 so that there was a strong relationship between therapeutic communication and anxiety levels during the COVID-19 pandemic at RA Basoeni Hospital Mojokerto where the better communication therapeutic nurse, the lighter the level of anxiety. Therapeutic communication is important in order to understand the patient's condition which can reduce patient anxiety so that it can accelerate the patient's recovery.
