PERILAKU PEMELIHARAAN KESEHATAN GIGI PADA ANAK SD NEGERI PLINGGISAN KECAMATAN KRATON KABUPATEN PASURUAN
Abstract
Dental and oral health in Indonesian society needs serious attention because not a few Indonesians suffer from dental and oral diseases. One of the causes is the vulnerability of school-age children from dental health problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the behavior of dental health maintenance in Plinggisan Elementary School children, Kraton District, Pasuruan Regency. The design of this research is descriptive. The population in this study were all students in grades 1-3 in Plinggisan Elementary School, Kraton District, Pasuruan Regency as many as 63 children. The sampling technique used was total sampling so that the sample size was 63 children. The instrument used questionnaire. Data analysis used descriptive analysis. The results suggested that most of the respondents had negative behavior in maintaining dental health, as many as 36 children (57.1%), and respondents who had positive behavior were 27 children (42.9%). These results suggested that the behavior of maintaining dental health in children at SD Negeri Plinggisan, Kraton District, Pasuruan Regency was negative behavior. Respondents' negative behavior due to consuming foods containing sugar such as chocolate, soft drinks and others, brushing teeth only during bath time, not taking parents to the dentist every 6 months, not brushing teeth for at least 2 minutes, brushing teeth hard to make it cleaner, do not rub all areas of the mouth, from the outside, inside, to the gums and do not brush your teeth before going to bed at night.
