dc.description.abstract | The role of parents in the selection of children's snacks is crucial. For
example, they are making lunch-box, familiarizing, guiding, and directing children
in choosing food. Today's phenomenon is that children at school age are vulnerable
to consuming unhealthy snacks and ignoring these foods' cleanliness and health.
This study aims to analyze the relationship between the role of parents regarding
healthy snacks with children's behavior in choosing food for school-age children
correlation analytic research design with the cross-sectional approach. The
population in this study were all mothers who had children in MI Negeri 2
Mojokerto totaling 163 people. In addition, the sampling technique of this study
was total sampling. Also, The sample in this study amounted to 163 people. The
research instrument uses the results of validity and reliability tests. By editing,
coding, scoring, and analyzing data, the research data was concluded. It started from
November 23, 2020 - to April 30, 2021, which its Data analysis uses Statistical
tests. This study indicates that all roles of parents are in a suitable category, namely
163 people (100%), and almost all respondents have positive values in choosing
food as many as 86 children (52.8%). The results of the Statistical Test analysis
showed a p-value of (0.998) < (0.05), so the conclusion is H0 was accepted,
meaning that there was no relationship between the role of parents regarding healthy
snacks and children's behavior in choosing food at MIN 2 Mojokerto. The
correlation between the two variables is 0.000, indicating no significant relationship
between the two variables, meaning that both variables are very weak. Parents who
are knowledgeable and play a good role can share information with other people as
well, especially for parents and guardians of other students so that they can help
and provide good support fos children who consume healthy snacks, both at home
