    Abstract
    Hypertension is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease in the elderly which is the main cause of death worldwide. One of the non-pharmacological management of hypertension is yoga exercise. Pesanggrahan PMKS Mojopahit Mojokerto. The design of this study was Pre-Experimental with a One Group Post-Test Design approach. The population of this study was all elderly people in UPT Pesanggrahan PMKS mojopahit Mojokerto as many as 49 people. The sampling technique used was non-probability samples using method of sampling technique purposive sampling in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria with a sample of 15 people.The research instrument used a manual sphygmonometer, a stethoscope, and an observation sheet. The results of this study showed (46.7%) 7 respondents had moderate hypertension before doing yoga exercise and (80.0%) 12 respondents experienced a decrease in blood pressure after doing yoga exercise with mild hypertension. The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test show p-value = 0.001 then p-value < 0.05 so H1 is accepted, meaning that there is an effect of yoga exercise on changes in blood pressure status in hypertensive elderly at UPT Pesanggrahan PMKS Mojopahit Mojokerto. This shows that Yoga exercise is a physical activity that can relax to lower blood pressure by means of breathing exercises to relax the body.When relaxed the body will stimulate the release of these endorphins which function as a natural sedative produced by the brain which can relax the body and reduce high blood pressure.
