Abstract
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a clinical syndrome due to nephron damage which
results in the failure of body functions to maintain metabolism and fluid and electrolyte balance.
One of the problems that occur in CKD patients is adherence to hemodialysis therapy.
Adherence is necessary to achieve therapeutic success. Adherence as the level of behavior of a
person receiving treatment. This study aims to analyze the relationship between support and
compliance with chronic renal failure patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy. The research
design used in this study was cross sectional using a non-probability technique with consecutive
sampling. The population is all patients with chronic kidney failure who undergo hemodialysis
therapy at Prof. Soekandar Hospital as many as 150 people and obtained a sample of 45 people.
Collecting data using a family support variable questionnaire totaling 16 questions and the
compliance variable totaling 6 questions. After the data was collected, the data was processed
using the SPSS for Windows version 25 program with the Spearman Rho statistical test. The
results showed that from 45 respondents, most of them had good family support, amounted to 29
people (64.4%), and a small part had sufficient family support with a total of 16 people (35.6),
and most of the respondents obeyed as many as 36 people (80 people). 0.0%), and a small
proportion of respondents did not comply as many as 9 people (20.0%). The results showed
value = 0.000 and = 0.05 and coefficient correlation value = 0.557 so that H1 was accepted,
meaning that there was a strong relationship between family support and compliance with
chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy. Soekandar. The existence of
good family support will make respondents have a tendency to comply in undergoing
hemodialysis therapy.
