dc.description.abstract | Covid 19 was transmitted through close contact and droplets. Individuals most at risk of infection are health workers who treat COVID-19 patients. Health workers can protect themselves when treating patients by adhering to infection prevention and control practices. The research design used is descriptive analytic with a case control approach. The independent variable is compliance with the use of Personal Protective Equipment and the dependent variable is the covid 19 infection. The population is 60 emergency room health workers and the sample is 50 people using purposive sampling. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there was a relationship between compliance with the use of personal protective equipment with the occurrence of Covid 19 infection in IGD officers at Bangil Hospital, Pasuruan Regency. In the chi square test, the value of Asymp Sig (2 sided) is 0.000. The key to prevention for medical personnel includes breaking the chain of transmission by isolation, washing hands, early detection, and performing basic protection. Components of personal protective equipment consist of gloves, face masks, protective glasses or face shields, and long-sleeved non-sterile gowns. Obedience to using personal protective equipment is an effective method of preventing transmission to health workers who were in close contact with patients infected with Covid-19. | en_US |
