STIGMA TERHADAP PASIEN COVID 19 DI PKM GONDANG KABUPATEN MOJOKERTO
Abstract
The pandemic is one of the most serious public health problems globally. This is like what happened at the beginning of 2020. The threat of this pandemic is getting bigger when various cases show that transmission can occur between people. The number of cases of the Covid-19 outbreak certainly has an impact on aspects of social life. The negative impact of the emergence of social stigma is feared not only to affect those who suffer from the disease, but also family, friends and community. This is because the impact of stigma on Covid-19 patients can encourage people to hide the disease to avoid discrimination and prevent people from immediately seeking health care. Nevertheless, the phenomenon of stigma against the Covid-19 pandemic shows public awareness and vigilance about the dangers associated with Covid-19 and does not underestimate it. The research design used in this research is descriptive which is directed to describe the stigma of society towards positive COVID-19 patients in Pkm Gondang Mojokerto Regency. The population in this study were all residents who were confirmed to have COVID 19 as many as 127 patients. Taking 34 samples of respondents who meet the inclusion criteria. Based on table 4.4 shows that most of the respondents experienced negative stigma by the community with a total of 20 respondents (58.8%). Stigma is a social interaction between those who are stigmatized and those who are stigmatized. Stigma arises because of the experience of discrimination from others and also feelings of shame that arise from the individual's internal. Patient support is very important to reduce stigma and its impact.
