dc.description.abstract | Mental health and psychological changes that make stroke sufferers become
inferior, uncontrolled emotions and sufferers want to be noticed by someone. Lack of
social support causes the quality of life of stroke sufferers to decline so that it can
have an impact on the treatment and therapy that is being lived. The purpose of this
study was to determine the relationship between social support and quality of life in
stroke patients. The design of this research secondary data was done by literature
review method from 10 journals obtained through electronic media database Google
Scholar, Science Direct, and PubMed NLM (National Library of Medicine), 5
national journals and 5 international journals, with the keywords social support,
quality life, and stroke. The results in this study is that there is a relationship of social
support that will improve the quality of life of stroke patients which can have a
positive impact on their health. Social support can alleviate the negative impact of
negative feelings on quality of life such as depression, anxiety, and stress. Stroke
patients who get psychological comfort from family, friends, and the closest people
can solve problems through positive pathways and at the same time patients have
psychological security caused by a strong sense of self-confidence. The existence of
social support from family, friends, and closest people can affect the daily lives of
stroke patients so that it does not adversely affect the quality of life. 10 out of 10
studies found a relationship of social support with the quality of life of stroke
patients. Having a good social support relationship makes the quality of life of stroke
patients better. | en_US |
