PENGARUH TEKNIK PERNAFASAN BUTEYKO TERHADAP PENURUNAN FREKUENSI KEKAMBUHAN ASMA
Abstract
Asthma is an incurable chronic chronic disease. However, asthma can be controlled
using the Buteyko breathing technique. The Buteyko technique is not widely known in
Indonesia and not many have used this technique to control asthma recurrence. In addition to
improving the function of pulmonary oxygenation ventilation, the buteyko technique is also
useful for reducing dependence of asthmatics on drugs. The purpose of this study was to
analyze the effect of the Buteyko breathing technique on reducing the frequency of asthma
recurrences. Methods: secondary research design data using the literature review method
from 10 journals obtained through the electronic database media Google Scholar, SCIEPUB,
IJAR, IJHSR, IJRSR, IJMPH, using the keyword Buteyko breathing technique, frequency of
asthma recurrence. Result: Buteyko breathing technique is an alternative prevention of
asthma relapse and can help reduce breathing difficulties by hyperventilation. 7 out of 10
showed results after doing the Buteyko breathing technique for more than 2 weeks, and the
Buteyko breathing technique was effective in improving asthma control with a combination
of walking exercises. The Buteyko technique is able to affect the maximum oxygen defense
and minimum carbon dioxide deposition in the alveoli so that CO2 levels in the blood can be
stable and reduce the incidence of bronchospasm. The process of exchanging O2 and CO2 in
the tissue can be caused by nose clearing exercises. The inhaled air in the form of O2 enters
the body's tissues while the CO2 in the blood enters the alveoli and is then expelled into the
atmosphere through the nose during expiration. In bronchial asthma patients, there will be
hyperventilation so that the CO2 in the blood decreases which results in narrowing of the
bronchi in the alveoli as the body's defense in maintaining CO2 levels in the blood to prevent
asthma recurrence.
