Diabetes mellitus in Citra Medika Hospital Sidoarjo. Analytical research design with a pre-experimental design of one group type pre test post test design. The population of all patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who met the inclusion and self-examination criteria at Citra Medika Hospital Sidoarjo on March 18 - April 16, 2020 were 254 people taken by 15 people as samples using consecutive sampling. The independent variable consists of 4 pillars of diabetes mellitus management and the dependent variable is planning for controlling blood sugar levels of patients with diabetes mellitus. Data is retrieved using a checklist. After being collected, the data is processed and analyzed descriptively using a percentage. The results showed that most respondents had less planning before being given counseling by 12 respondents (80.0%), most respondents had adequate planning after being given counseling by 8 respondents (53.3%), and there were those who used 4 pillar counseling management of diabetes mellitus. The difference is motivated by counseling conducted by counselors who have the right scientific background, complex counseling processes, discussions that can provide solutions for respondents, as well as information that is easily accessed by respondents.
