take care of themselves independently (Self Care). Self care is an activity carriedout by individuals independently in fulfilling their life needs to maintain theirhealth. Meanwhile, self-care for elderly hypertension is measured based on
adherence to taking anti-hypertensive drugs, adherence to low-salt diet, sportsactivities and routine blood pressure. One of the factors that influence self-care isfamily. The purpose of this study was to analyze family support in self-care forelderly people with hypertension in Kutoporong Village, Bangsal District,Mojokerto Regency. The design in this study used phenomenology (descriptive)
with in-depth interviews, participants were obtained by using purposive samplingtechnique with a total of 4 participants. The results showed that the experience ofthe elderly about the support provided by their families for self-care withhypertension, was obtained from the results of interviews in 3 participants whoreceived good family support for self-care, namely Emotional Support, InformationSupport, Instrumental Support, Appreciation Support, while for 1 participant whoreceived poor family support, there was self-care, namely emotional support andfamily information support. So efforts to improve self-care with hypertension in theelderly, a good family support is needed. | en_US |
