dc.description.abstract | The School-age children behavior is less paying in attention for washing their hands in
daily life, especially when in the school environment. It is certainly have big impact for
causing diarrheal disease. Diarrhea is still a public health problem in Indonesia as a
developing country. One of the prevention of diseases that become Clean and Healthy
Behavior (CHB) programs in schools is Handwashing. Teaching the Children about
washing hands early as culture is very important because they are the agents of change in
their surrounding area. One keys that create the hand washing behavior is the education
and infrastructure. Therefore, the researcher purpose to study the relationship between
handwashing behavior and diarrhea cases in elementary school. It is analytical correlation
with cross sectional approach and total sample type 70 respondents . Data was collected
using handwashing behavior observation sheets online / whatsapp and diarrhea cases
questionnaires. Data analysis was completed by cross tabulation / crosstabs. The results
of the cross tabulation of 70 respondents who had proper hand washing behavior were 61
respondents (87,1%) while of 9 respondents the behavior of washing their hands was not
100% or all had diarrhea. So it can be concluded that the more precisely the person is
doing hand washing, the less incidents of diarrhea. This there is a relationship between
hand washing behavior with the diarrhea cases on students at SDN Kebonagung, Puri
subdistrict, Mojokerto. There needs to be counseling from Public Health Officer about
how to wash hands using soap right for elementary school students. | en_US |
