dc.description.abstract | Breast cancer stems from the development of invasive and non-invasive
abnormal tissues in the breast which could cause death. One of the management
of breast cancer was chemotherapy, which had an impact on the patient's physical
psychological aspects. The psychological impact caused was depression. This
study aims to analyzed the description of the level of depression in breast cancer
patients undergoing chemotherapy at leprosy hospital of Sumber glagah
Mojokerto. The design of this research was descriptive. The population in this
study were all breast cancer patients who underwent chemotherapy totalling 74
respondents from May to June 2020, sample in this study was 40 respondents who
were taken by consecutive sampling. Variable of this research was the
depression's level. Based on the DASS 21 measurement scale. The data were
analyzed descriptively by percentage. The results showed 32.5% of respondents
had mild depression, 32.5% of respondents had moderate depression and 7.5% of
respondents had very severe depression. Chemotherapy treatment will affect the
patient's psychological condition. Psychological burdens such as extreme sadness
and pessimism about the future can make the patient frustrate and depress. | en_US |
