dc.description.abstract | Adolescents who are obese have an effect on their self-esteem, because they feel useless
and insecure when they meet other people. Obesity is the accumulation of fat in adipose tissue
that is abnormal or excessive to a level that can cause health problems, if obesity is not treated
immediately it will have an impact on adolescent psychology. The purpose of this study was to
determine the relationship between obesity and self-esteem in class X adolescent girls at SMA
Negeri 1 Pacet, Mojokerto Regency. The research design used correlation analytic with cross
sectional approach. The population in this study was 21 people, the sampling technique used
total sampling. The number of research samples were 21 people. The research instrument used
the Rosenberg self-esteem scale (RSES) questionnaire and data collection on obesity in school
UKS. Methods of data analysis using cross tabulation. The test results used IBM SPSS Statistics
25 software, with the total sampling correlation statistical test obtained prosentase low self
esteem 67%, which means that there is a relationship between obesity and self-esteem in class X
adolescents in SMA Negeri 1 Pacet, Mojokerto Regency. Obesity has no full effect on selfesteem.
It is hoped that obese adolescents can maintain the ideal body so that their self-esteem is not disturbed and has a positive view of what they have. | en_US |
