dc.description.abstract | Bullying can occur verbally, physically and psychologically. This bullying has a
negative impact on adolescent mental health such as anxiety that makes students
at SMP Negeri 1 Buduran Sidoarjo reluctant to go to school. The purpose of this
research was to determine the relationship between bullying with anxiety levels of
adolescents in SMP Negeri 1 Buduran Sidoarjo. The design of this study uses
analytic correlation with Cross Sectional approach. The population is all students
as many as 908 people to get a sample of 278 people taken by the Slovin Formula,
Proportional Stratified Random Sampling and Simple Random Sampling. Data
collection used bullying questionnaire and anxiety DASS. The bullying
questionnaire experienced by adolescents had been tested for validity and
reliability which obtained Cronbach’s 0.913 results. The statistical test used the
Spearman rho with the help of SPSS version 20. The results showed p (0,000) <α
(0.05), meaning that there was a correlation between bullying with anxiety levels
of adolescents in SMP Negeri 1 Buduran Sidoarjo. Respondents mostly students
experienced moderate bullying, namely 209 students (75.2%). Most experienced
normal anxiety in 130 students (46.8%) and moderate anxiety in 77 students
(27.7%). Repeated bullying can cause anxiety because bullying provides an
insecure feeling, especially in the school environment. The school can provide
counseling to parents and students so that they know how to prevent bullying and
provide solutions to reduce anxiety in students. | en_US |
