dc.description.abstract | Benigna Prostatic Hyperplasia can cause blockage of the bladder outlet.
BPH clients with bladder outlet obstruction problems are usually operated,
surgery will cause pain. Pain is discomfort due to disconnected trauma tissue
incision. The purpose is this study is to carry out acute pain nursing care in post
op BPH clients. This case is descriptive. Data collection methods used were
interviews, observation, physical examination, the results were written in the form
of field notes and then documented. Participants taken were 2 clients who
experienced post op BPH with acute pain nursing problem with criteria for post
op patients day 1, the patient was aware and cooperative, willing to be a
participant, BPH without complications, age> 40 years. The implementation is
carried out 3x24 hours including identifying pain comprehensively, indetifying
factors that trigger or that enhance the experience of pain, maintaining bed rest,
teaching relaxation techniques, teaching distraction techniques and collaboration
with other medical teams for administering analgesic drugs, the results that pain
reduced,both clients, have met the expected results criteria. Effectiveness in
providing nursing care aside from the nurse’s actions but also from the response
and to the cooperative and patient in receiving measures to reduce pain in addition
to drugs also with non pharmacological therapy namely distractin and relaxation
