Abstract
A physiological condition of kidney failure to retain sodium and fluids that
results in the kidneys beingunable to concentrate or dilute urine normally, retained
fluids and sodium can cause the risk of edema. Excess liquid volume is over
dehydration or excess extracellular volume which is usually referred to as the
third fruid shift. The retained water and sodium are in the same proportion as the
proportion in other CES roms. The aim of this study is to carry out nursing care
with excess fluid volume in chronic renal failure clients. The design of this case
study is descriptive. Data collection methods used were interviews, observation,
physical examination, the results were written in teh from of field notes and then
documented. Participant taken were 2 clients who had chronic kidney failure with
excess fluid volume with the results of the maximum 1 day treatment criteria, the
client was conscious and operative, and withno other ballast problems.
Implementation carried out 3x24 hours includes identifying signs and symptoms
of hypervolemia, monitoring intake and output, monitoring TTV ( vital signs),
weighing each weight before dialysis (if possible ), giving HE abaut drinking
restrictions for24 hours, collaborating drug administration diuretic or non
deuretic. Expected results expected. The effectiveness in providing nursing care
aside from theactions of the nurse but also from the response and co-operative of
the patient in receiving the action for improved fluid balance.
