dc.description.abstract | Gastroenteritis is caused by infection or contaminated food and the
stomach was irritating so that germs entered and the intestine worked imperfectly,
from here there was a bacterial infection that caused inflammation and secretes
toxins which caused the frequency of defecate increased, resulted in excessive
loss of fluid and electrolytes. Some of suffered (1-2%) would fall into dehydration
and if not immediately helped 50-60% of the popularity could die. The purposed
of this study was able to carried out hypovolemia nursing care in cases of
Gastroenteritis. The method used was descriptive in the form of case studied.
Participants in this case studied 1 participant with hypovolemia problems. Data
collection techniquies included interview, physical examination, and
documentation. From assessment data obtained by client patients were complain
of abdominal pain and diarrhea, fever and complained hungry, palpable pulsed
weak, warm acral, dry lip mucosa, decreased skin turgor, weak state. After made a
plan, researchers carried out nursing actions in accordance with the plan that was
monitoring intake and output, colaboration gave fluid IV isotonis, oralit, and
investigated to support the diagnosis of hypovolemia. From data obtained from
assessment to evaluation obtained, in clients with hypovolemia, the problem was
resolve if diarrhea normal, wet mucous membrane, skin turgor within normal
limits, vital signs within normal limits. From the inferred outcome criteria, the
client with hypovolemia was more emphasized to fulfill fluid balance or hydration
