Abstract
Fracture is a term for loss of continuity of bone, cartilage, either total or partial, usually caused by trauma or physical exertion. Therefore, surgery is needed to solve the problem of fractures that cause incision wounds that will stimulate the release of substances that stimulate nociceptors. Stimulation of these nociceptors causes pain. This study aims to determine how appropriate nursing care for post-op patients with upper extremity fractures with acute pain nursing problems. Researchers used a case study method in the Sunan Gunung Jati Room 2 RSI Sakinah Mojokerto which included assessment, data analysis, diagnosis determination, intervention, implementation, nursing evaluation carried out on January 9, 2020 to January 10, 2020 with female clients and 55 years old. Research data were collected by interview (assessment) and physical examination techniques. The results showed that the client's condition had a good development. After nursing care for 2x24 hours, the acute pain problem improved with a decrease in the patient's pain complaints, the patient's blood pressure was in the normal range, and the patient looked calmer. Based on the results of these studies, it can be concluded that the client has received routine care and pharmacological therapy. In addition, good pain management must be maintained. As well as good cooperation between the client, family, and the medical team to follow each treatment procedure will have a major impact on the client's recovery. For further researchers, it is hoped that discourse can be used in the learning process so that in the end they are able to be disciplined, especially in terms of handling acute pain clients related to physical injury agents (surgical procedures) by involving family participation, so that the number of postoperative patients with acute pain problems can be given treatment right.
