dc.description.abstract | Aging process could cause elderly lost his physically ability, i.e. limitation of range
of movement and Impairment of biology condition would affect the elderly psychical
condition, cognitive disorders and psychosocial disturbances resulting in low of self
efficacy elderly that will lead to difficulties in meeting the needs of his daily activities.
Elderly dependency in meeting daily living activities may be one causal factor of self
efficacy, especially the elderly who live in nursing. The purpose of this study was to
determine the relationship of self efficacy with Elderly dependency in daily living activities
in nursing homes Mojopahit Mojokerto Regency. This methodis a crosssectional study.
Elderly population and as many as 43 respondents aged 35 taken by simple random
sampling. Data retrieved by using a questionnaire measuring self efficacy and observation
sheet using Index Barthel. Then statistically analyzed by Spearman rho test. Test results of
the statistic analysis using Spearman's rho test found significance level of 0.000 < from
alpha value α (0.05) means H
is denied, so there is correlation between self efficacy with
Elderly dependency in daily living activities and r correlation value = 0,571that means
higher relationship and positive correlation, so higher self efficacy, higher achievement of
independence level.
