dc.description.abstract Respiratory system disorders include the presence of respiratory tract obstruction which is usually caused by a buildup of secretions or fluids or foreign objects that block the airways, thereby interfering with airway patency. Respiratory failure caused by obstruction in the respiratory tract can be overcome by one of the actions commonly performed in intensive care, namely suction. This study uses quantitative research methods with a One group pre-post test design approach. Collecting data using observation sheets. The results of the study using the paired samples t test obtained a p value of 0.000 which means it is smaller than the alpha value of 0.05 (0.000 <0.05). Thus, it can be concluded statistically with a 95% confidence level, it is believed that there is an effect of suction action on changes in oxygen saturation in ICU patients at RSUD RA. Basoeni Mojokerto. Judging from the results of this study is the oxygen saturation will increase after suction. This is due to the freeing of the airway against the accumulation of secretions, making the transfer of oxygen from the atmosphere into the lungs very effective. So that this suction action is very appropriate for patients who experience airway obstruction (Rhonki, Gargling / Snoring, Decreased SPO2, Decreased level of consciousness and decreased respiratory rate). en_US
