dc.description.abstract Cancer is a malignancy that is triggered by cell mutations at the gene level. Changes in the level of these genes mainly affect the genes that control cell life, cell death (apoptosis) and cell proliferation. The properties of cancer cells include the ability to proliferate indefinitely (eternally), have different cell biochemistry from normal cells, the ability to metabolize, grow and develop without external stimuli (autocrine), insensitive to anti-growth signals, able to produce growth hormones and receptors, and the ability to Infiltrate and metastasize to other organs, Carry out pain nursing care for cancer patients in the working area of the Kraton Health Center. In this study using a descriptive research design with a case research approach at the data collection stage the researchers used techniques (interviews, observations and documentation) in the care assessment format that had been prepared previously. Guided imagery and progressive muscle can reduce the client's pain intensity and reduce restlessness techniques. Collaborating with family to create a safe home environment can provide client safety and comfort when doing exercises. The effectiveness of deep breathing techniques, guided imagery and progressive muscle is determined by the client's routine in undergoing exercise so that clients are expected to practice deep breathing techniques, guided imagery and progressive muscle on a regular basis with the involved family helping clients in doing the exercises. en_US
