HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DENGAN DEPRESI PADA LANSIA DI UNIT PELAKSANAAN TEKNIS PESANGGRAHAN PENYANDANG MASALAH KESEJAHTERAAN SOSIAL MOJOPAHIT MOJOKERTO

Abstract

Depression at an advanced age pertaining to family encouragement. The family was the support system for the elderly, informal owned family encouragement is extremely significant in the occurrence of depression or being stalwart. The purpose of this research to know family encouragement is relations with depression in elderly living in shelters. Was used in the study design analytic the correlation with the approach of cross sectional. Technique for the withdrawal of the sampling method of non probability sample the sample collection technique purposive the sampling method of with the total sample 15 men. An instrument was used in the study of the questionnaire was geriatrric depression scale (GDS). This research result indicates that senior citizens with the support of good family who do not suffer from depression as many as 3 ( 60 % ) respondents a slight depression and who suffered as much as two ( 40 % ) of respondents.While senior citizens with the support of the moderate families who do not depression as much as two ( 100 % ) of respondents. While senior citizens with the support of the poor families that experienced a slight depression as many as 6 ( 75 % ) of respondents and suffered from depression weigh as much as 2 ( 25 % ) of respondents. The spearman rho testing shows there value = 0.31 so value < 0.05, so that h1 accepted mean there are the relationship between family encouragement is with depression in elderly at UPT Pesanggrahan PMKS Mojopahit Mojokerto areas. Family encouragement is very important for senior citizens the shoulders of the family would sent down elderly depression and as for the elder from the effects of a visor negative depression.
