dc.description.abstract Coronavirus is a family of coronavirus viruses because it has a garland-shaped protrusion on the viral envelope (Zhong et al., 2020). A new type of coronavirus, namely Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) attacks the respiratory system causing pneumonia, which was first discovered at the end of December 2019 from the Huanan seafood market in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China (Bogoch, et al, 2020). The research design used was observational analytic with a cross sectional approach. . The population in this study was the entire community of RT 01 in Sengkan Hamlet, Sumber Gareng Village, Sukorejo District. The sample in this study were 50 people. The research instrument is using a questionnaire containing questions about COVID-19. Based on table 4.5 shows that some of the respondents have a good understanding after being given health education through lectures as many as 38 respondents (76%). Wilcoxon signed rank test results if significant (ρ) < 0.05 (error rate 5%) then H0 is rejected, and vice versa if value > 0.05 then H1 is accepted. In this study, it was found to be significant at 0.000, so value <0.05, which means that there is an effect of health education through lectures on the level of public knowledge about COVID-19. This shows that good health education will be followed by a good level of public knowledge about covid-19 en_US
