| dc.description.abstract | Self-care is an important aspect in managing diabetes mellitus to maintain blood glucose control and prevent complications. The implementation of self-care in diabetes mellitus patients is not only influenced by individual abilities, but also by family support as one of the main sources of support in carrying out care. This study aims to analyze the relationship between family support and self-care in diabetes mellitus patients in the working area of the UPTD Puri Health Center. This study used a correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 30 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Summary of Diabetes Self-Care Activities (SDSCA). Data analysis was performed using the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results showed that most respondents received family support in the high category as much as 73.3%, while 56.7% of respondents had self-care in the good category. The analysis results showed a p value = 0.000 (p < 0.05) with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.690, which indicates a strong and significant relationship between family support and self-care. The greater the family support received, the better the self-care practices of people with diabetes mellitus. Family involvement needs to be enhanced through ongoing education and support as part of cessation interventions to support optimal diabetes mellitus management. | en_US |
