HUBUNGAN LAMA PENGGUNAAN GADGET DENGAN TINGKAT KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL PADA REMAJA DI SMK PGRI SOOKO KABUPATEN MOJOKERTO

Abstract

In the modern era, developments are increasing, especially in the field oftechnology. One product that is very attractive in all circles is the gadget. A gadget is a device or instrument that has a practical function that is specificallydesigned to be more sophisticated than the technology that was created before.The purpose of this study is to determine the old relationship between the use ofgadgets with the level of emotional intelligence in adolescents at SMK PGRISOOKO, Mojokerto Regency. The study design uses cross sectional. Thepopulation is all students of SMK PGRI SOOKO Class XI Accounting, thesampling technique uses total sampling. The sample in this study was students ofSMK PGRI SOOKO Class XI accounting in May 2020 as many as 76 people. Theresearch instrument used an old questionnaire using a gadget and emotionalintelligence questionnaire. The method of data analysis uses the Spearman RhoCorrelation. The test results using SPSS 16.0 Spearman Rho correlation statisticaltest obtained p = 0.108> α (0.05), which means there is no long-standingrelationship between the use of gadgets and the level of emotional intelligence inadolescents at SMK PGRI SOOKO Mojokerto Regency. The decline in the levelof Emotional Intelligence in adolescents is not only influenced by the Old Usageof Gadgets, but there are still many factors that make the level of emotionalintelligence decrease in adolescents.
