dc.description.abstract Typhoid fever is an acute systemic infectious disease caused by Salmonella typhi. One of the signs of typhoid fever is hyperthermia. Hyperthermia is a condition when individuals experience or are at risk of experiencing an increase in body temperature <37.8oC (100oF) orally or 38.8oC (101oF) per rectal which is persistent due to external factors. The purpose of this nursing care is to be able to apply nursing care to patients who experience hyperthermia in cases of typhoid fever at Anwar Medika Krian Sidoarjo General Hospital. The methods used in the research include interviews, observation, physical examination, and study documentation. The results of the study showed that both patients had hyperthermia. After being given nursing care for 3x24 hours, hyperthermia in both patients was resolved with the criteria of decreased paleness, decreased tachycardia (60-100x/minute), decreased tachypnea (16-20 x/minute), improved body temperature (36.5-37.5 oC), the skin temperature decreases. To overcome the problem of hyperthermia what is done is to monitoring vital signs (body temperature, pulse rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure), monitoring fluid intake and output, monitoring complications due to fever, covering the body with blankets/clothing appropriately, applying warm compresses, recommending more drinking , recommend bed rest, collaboration of intravenous fluids and electrolytes, antipyretics, antibiotics. en_US
