dc.description.abstract Typhoid fever is an acute febrile illness caused by infection with the bacterium Salmonella enterica, especially its derivative, Salmonella typhi. However, it can also be caused by Salmonella paratyphi A, Salmonella typhi B, and Salmonella paratyphi C. The emergence of hyperthermia problems is caused by salmonella typhi that enters the gastrointestinal tract. It causes inflammation and enters the bloodstream and then affects the thermoregulatory center in the hypothalamus. The purpose of this study is to carry out nursing care for clients who have typhoid fever with hyperthermia problems. The method used in this research is a case study with interview, observation and documentation methods using a medical surgical nursing care format for 1 participant with a diagnosis of typhoid fever who has hyperthermia. Intervention and implementation of efforts to reduce fever with warm compresses and health education on the use of clothing and fluid intake and activity patterns. The results of the evaluation were obtained in patients achieving resolved results after 4x1 hours of treatment, namely chills decreased, tachypnea decreased, tachycardia decreased, body temperature was in the normal range. This is because the patient and family are cooperative in undergoing warm compresses every 2 hours. en_US
